The content of the course mainly focuses on the following issues: the advent and development of scientific socialism; the historic mission of the working class, socialism and the transition period to socialism; socialist democracy and socialist government; alliances of class, class; ethnicity, religion issues; family problems in the current transition to socialism.

- To provide students with basic knowledge of how to identify objectives, tasks, methods, and importance of the course during the learning process.

- Brief description of the course:
This course provides students with basic and specialized knowledge of objects, purposes, tasks, research and study methods of the History of Communist Party and the basic, core, systematic knowledge of the Party establishment (1920- 1930), the process of Party's leading the rise to power (1930-1945), leading two resistance wars against French colonialist and American imperialist invasions, completing national liberation and reunion (1945 - 1975), leading the national transition to socialism and carrying out the Doi moi (1975-2018). Thereby, by affirming the successes, listing the limitations, and summarizing experience of the Party’s leadership, the course helps students raise awareness, belief in the Party, apply the knowledge they have learned in practice, contributing to the construction and defense of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

- To provides students with basic understanding of Marxist-Leninist: together with Marxist-Leninist Philosophy, Marxist - Leninist Political Economy, Scientific Socialism, the History of Vietnamese Communist Party to form the understanding of ideology, and guidelines of Vietnamese Communist Party.

This course is for students who are not major in law. The course introduces the basic theoretical issues of the Marxist-Leninist doctrine of the state and the law from the origin, nature, form, function as well as the types of state and the law that have formed, existed and developed through different socio-economic forms in human history. In addition, the course also includes the study of the state's position in the state political and administrative systems. It provides students with background knowledge of the common laws of Vietnam such as fundamental rights and responsibilities of citizens, crimes, violations of administrative laws, regulations of the law on marriage, divorce, inheritance, etc.
